Republican Sen. John McCain says the fate of Arizona's controversial SB 1062 measure is in Gov. Jan Brewer's hands: "It's up to her. I can't make a prediction."

His comments come in the immediate wake of an NBC News report that the Arizona governor is likely to veto the measure that could allow businesses to refuse service to gay and lesbians due to religious beliefs.

"There certainly has been a very big reaction to it, particularly amongst the business community which is the base of our [GOP] support," McCain told NBC News Radio.

"The whole business community has been galvanized by it," he said.

McCain also touched on opposition to the bill from Super Bowl organizers ahead of Glendale's 2015 game.

"I worry about everything," said McCain. "We had a backlash from the SB 1070 (anti-immigrant legislation), as you know."
