Two simple words. Last April, amid a week of terror in Boston, one common theme of support emerged online and off, across Boston, across America and around the world: "Boston Strong."

"We are one. We are strong. We are Boston. We are Boston strong," the Red Sox public address announcer said to an eruption of cheers at the beloved team's first home game following the week of tragedy. One year later, that rallying cry for this tight-knit New England city remains stronger than ever.

Here, a sampling of some of those messages that will continue to be updated through the day.
