Friday Flurries Pile Up as New York Nears Top 5 Winter for Snow

The 12.5 inches of snow that blanketed Central Park on Thursday and early Friday makes this New York's ninth snowiest season on record.

If another 6.3 inches of snow falls in Central Park on Friday, this will be one of New York City's top five snowiest seasons on record, according to The Weather Channel's Chris Dolce.

However, the Big Apple will need a lot more winter weather to reach the record 75.6 inches of snow measured in 1995-96.
