#FightEbola: A Sick Child Strikes Fear in a Village

Nine-year-old Nowa Paye’s village quarantined her before she was taken away for testing.

Quarantined by her Liberian village after she began showing signs of Ebola, 9-year-old Nowa Paye was taken away with five neighbors by an ambulance crew suited up in personal protective equipment.

Ebola has infected at least 13,000 people in West Africa, and killed at least 5,000. If the deadly virus isn't stopped, the CDC estimates that up to 1.4 million people could be infected by the end of January 2015. To help support the groups at the frontline of this disease, donate at
