The FBI is asking for public help in identifying a masked man seen in an ISIS propaganda video released on the web last month who may be American. The man, dressed in desert camouflage and wearing a shoulder holster, speaks both English and Arabic in the nearly hour-long video.
As the FBI describes it, he can be seen "standing in front of purported prisoners as they dig their own graves and then later presiding over their executions." By posting a segment of the video, the FBI says it hopes "someone might recognize the man through his voice and appearance. In the segment, the faces of purported prisoners are obscured and their executions are not shown." FBI Director James Comey said two weeks ago that the tape showed two men "with North American accented English" and that the FBI was trying to identify them.
