Recreational marijuana sales began in Washington state Tuesday, but dedicated pot smokers may want to look elsewhere for the best deals. Weed in Seattle, where it is legal, runs nearly three times the street price in cities where pot has not been legalized, based on what the state's few open shops plan to charge. It's also more expensive than in other cities that have already experienced legalization, like Denver and Amsterdam. Washington and Colorado both approved legalized pot in late 2012, though Colorado got a head start by launching sales earlier this year. In the current fiscal year, Colorado has already reported more than $27 million in marijuana taxes, license charges and fees.
