The origins of "420" as an annual marijuana-related numeral are a little hazy, but that hasn't stopped stoners from using April, 20th as an excuse to smoke a little extra or recognize the day by attending one of many pot festivals or conventions.
Getting to and from the festivities can become a little difficult and dangerous after smoking marijuana, but Leafly, which bills itself as the world's cannabis information resource, has partnered with car service Uber to get revelers home.
Anyone who signs up for a new Uber account on April 20 and uses the code RIDESAFELEAFLY will get $20 off their ride, according to Leafly.
While recreational marijuana is legal (in varying degrees) in Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Colorado and Washington D.C., all states have drugged driving laws, which can result in fines or jail time, according to the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws.
