Israeli airstrikes hit about 50 targets in the Gaza Strip on Saturday as militant rocket fire continued following the end of a three-day truce. Five Palestinians were killed in the strikes, including two men who were driving on a motorcycle in a refugee camp. The Israeli military said they were militants who belonged to a Palestinian faction. Three bodies were also found under the rubble of the al-Qassam mosque in Gaza, including that of senior Hamas official Moaaz Zaid, Palestinian health official Ashraf al-Kidra told The Associated Press.

Hamas officials said Israeli airstrikes hit houses, mosques, warehouses and training sites. The Israeli military said militants in Gaza fired at least 28 rockets toward Israel on Saturday. All landed in open areas. Many had hoped the Egypt-brokered cease-fire would halt the bloody month-long war, but hostilities showed no signs of abating. In total, 10 Palestinians have died and at least 62 others have been wounded since the truce ended Friday morning. The death toll in Gaza stands at more than 1,900.
