Israeli Soldiers Fatally Shoot Palestinian in West Bank

Violent confrontations in the West Bank have escalated in recent months.

TEL AVIV — Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian throwing rocks in the West Bank, according to Israel's military. It said that troops tried to stop a group of Palestinians throwing rocks by firing warning shots in the air and later at the group.

Israel's military said one Palestinian was wounded and treated at the scene, but died from his injuries. It did not identify the victim but said an investigation has been opened into the incident. Violent confrontations in the West Bank have escalated in recent months.
