An "impatient driver" hit two Florida deputies after she cut through a funeral procession for one of the victims of the mass shooting in Orlando, officials said Saturday.
The two Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies were on motorcycles escorting the funeral procession through Kissimmee from a church to a burial site when the driver struck them, said sheriff's office spokesman Twis Lizasuain.
He said the female driver, who hadn't been identified, likely wasn't paying attention to the deputies.
One of the officers is in stable condition, while the other is in critical condition, according to the Osceola County Sheriff's Office. Neither officer has been identified.
The driver is being questioned, and charges against her are pending, officials said.
Forty-nine people were killed during the shooting at Pulse nightclub last Sunday. It wasn't immediately clear who was being honored during Saturday's incident, although the first of the funerals have begun for several of the victims.
