His pants soaked in blood, Oscar Pistorius stands at the scene of the fatal shooting of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in photos released Friday by South African police. The photos were released after Pistorius was convicted Friday of culpable homicide but cleared of a more serious murder charge. Pistorius – often called the "Blade Runner" – shot Steenkamp while she was in the bathroom of his luxury home on Valentine's Day last year.

The images were shown on a screen at the trial but not released by police until Friday.
