What do some of the world's greatest athletes do to let off some nervous energy? If you're a member of the U.S. Olympic squad, you train, commune with teammates, pose and, of course, take to social media.

U.S. Freeskiing team athlete and Lake Tahoe native David Wise, attending his first Olympic Games, took in a contest with his teammates.

While longtrack speedskater Lauren Cholewinski posed with teammates amid Sochi's Olympic rings - site of many an entertaining photo-op for athletes.

Skier Nick Goepper tracked down Jamaican bobsled driver Winston Watts.

Speedskating medal hopeful Shani Davis was spreading the love, along with the hashtagged call to arms #ItsOurTime

And freestyle skiier Joss Christensen (along with fellow U.S. Olympians Gus Kenworthy, Julia Krass and Maggie Voisin) posed with Today Show anchor Matt Lauer.
