The White House is executing an aggressive social media campaign leading up to tonight's State of the Union address.
On Twitter, they trumpeted the #SOTUiscoming hashtag. and even got Bo and Sunny into the act. There was also what some were calling the shortest State of the Union preview in history, a six second Vine from the President.
Facebook featured the President looking relaxed during speech preps, and even an appearance by the pen he's using to edit the draft of his speech.
They made extensive use of Storify, touting collections titled "A Day in the Life: Inside the State of the Union," another of official White House photographer Pete Souza's behind-the-scenes Instagrams, and still another focusing on Press Secretary Jay Carney.
The offical White House Google + account was promoting the speech as well, but also looking ahead to a post-speech listening tour and "Hangout Road Trip."
Tumblr was its usual image-driven self, and the White House account featured a host of them, including this one of the big speech to come:
Republicans, meanwhile, will have their say tonight as well. The official Republican response will be given by a little-known Congresswoman from Washington State, as House Speaker John Boehner reminded his 600,00 plus Twitter followers.
