Hostages being held in a Sydney cafe and chocolate shop were being rotated and forced to stand in its window for up to two hours at a time, according to a witness.

Chris Reason, senior correspondent with NBC News' Australian partner Channel 7, tweeted as he watched the standoff unfold. Channel 7's newsroom is located near the Lindt cafe. Reason told viewers how one woman had been forced to stand at a window of the cafe "her eyes bloodshot, the pain clearly visible."
