Jazz lovers and lovers of wireless speakers, your worlds are about to collide. Sonos, perhaps the best-known name in multi-room wireless speakers, now offers a special "Blue Note" version of its pint-sized Play:1 speaker. At about 6 inches tall, it's the smallest one in their current lineup (about 6 inches tall), the kind you might put in a kitchen or study, and this limited edition version has a rather chic blue fade to it.
At $250, it costs $50 more than a standard Play:1, but this speaker comes with a music package that fans of the legendary Blue Note label — home of such artists as Art Blakey, John Coltrane and Jackie McLean — may find irresistible. Three special Blue Note channels will be added to your Sonos app, with curated content from and about the label. Only a few thousand units will be made, and there's no shortage of jazz fans, so you may want to move quickly if the idea of a blue speaker blasting Blue Note piques your fancy.
