Kids today don’t buy music. Instead, they stream music on services like Spotify, and the song that they have streamed more than any other is “Wake Me Up” by Avicii.

The Swedish DJ has fist-pumped his way to more than 200 million streams, the most in Spotify history, the company announced on Thursday.

To put that in perspective, the best-selling album of all time, Michael Jackson’s “Thriller,” sold an estimated 66 million copies. Coincidentally, it was released in 1982, the year the first millennials were born.

How much do the youths love Avicii? “Wake Me Up” is streamed an average of 850,000 times every single day. It was the first Spotfiy song to hit 100 million streams, last September.

In second place was “Radioactive” by Imagine Dragons, which has been streamed 182 million times. So, yeah, kids love to stream catchy, anthemic tunes they can dance to — when they aren't buying vinyl for their vintage turntables, that is.
