What started as a practical joke more than two years ago is now "Cat Facts," an Android app meant to drive your friends crazy. The original prank involved a Reddit user anonymously texting his cousin every hour as a fictional service called "Cat Facts," which, despite numerous attempts, could not be canceled.

Now Kyle Venn, a former software developer for PayPal, has turned that joke into an actual app. That means anybody can annoy friends with inane cat facts sent from an anonymous number. The app is free to download, but after five anonymous texts, users need to pay for credits to keep the messages flowing. The service is free for people who don't mind being identified and, subsequently, losing a friend.
