Motorola has given a strong hint that the successor to its flagship Moto X handset is coming this summer, and reiterated its commitment to providing lower-cost devices.
The company took to Twitter during the Mobile World Congress conference to answer questions from followers and the press. Among them was one asking when the next version of the Moto X could be expected. "Keep posted - hint - late summer" was the answer.
Will it be bigger? Faster? Will it have a wood back? Motorola declined to provide specifics — but one thing it won't be is expensive. "Great smart phones should be for available to everyone & days of $600 phones are limited," read another Motorola tweet.
Motorola was similarly mum about its imminent absorption by Chinese computer giant Lenovo, except to compliment the new parent company as a business partner.
