TwitterChief Financial Officer Anthony Noto's Twitter account was hacked, the company acknowledged Tuesday. The tweets, which appeared to be spam, were in the format of direct replies to other users with a URL that redirected to another website. There were some 296 tweets sent over an eight-minute period. They were deleted by 2:25 p.m. ET.
This was the second time in three months that Noto's own Twitter account made news. In late November, he apparently posted as a public tweet something related to an acquisition that was intended to have been a private direct message.
