Sheryl Sandberg ... to the rescue! The Facebook chief operating officer is the star of a new comic book from Bluewater Productions, available starting Wednesday. "Lean In" author Sandberg is the latest subject in Bluewater's "Female Force" line of biographical comics.
That means readers won't find a laser-equipped Sandberg battling masked villains; the point of the comic is to show Sandberg's leap above sexism took much more than a single bound. "Our goal is to show the behind-the-scenes machinations -- many of them ignored by the mainstream media -- that resulted in Sheryl Sandberg becoming a leading voice in empowering successful businesswomen," Bluewater Productions publisher Darren G. Davis said in a press release. Retailer Comic Flea Market is selling the print book for $3.99, and digital copies are available via iTunes. Sample panels show a college-age Sandberg debating the work-life balance, and her mother assuring her it's OK to cry sometimes. To be continued in the next issue?!?
