Apple iOS 4.3.3 now available, fixes location-tracking issues

Apple promised there would be a software update to fix the location-tracking issues which have been causing security concerns over the last few weeks and it kept its word — as far as we can tell right now.

The iOS 4.3.3 update for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad is available for download now and it claims to reduce the size of the location tracking database, prevent backups of that cache to iTunes and delete the cache entirely if the "Location Services" feature is toggled off.

No one has confirmed whether this update really does what it promises to do just yet, but even the more paranoid folks among us are struggling to believe that Apple would dare to somehow avoid fixing the location-tracking issues at this point.

You can get the iOS 4.3.3 update by plugging your iOS device into your computer and hitting the "check for updates" button in iTunes.
