At some point on Sunday evening, people on the Internet took a break from complaining about the recent Netflix price hike. Instead they began expressing their annoyance and anger over the company's popular Instant View service being down.
As far as I could tell from comments made on Twitter as well as blog posts that went up during the incident, it seems that not everyone was experiencing issues streaming movies or TV shows using Netflix Instant View. Based a casual and very unscientific survey of my Twitter followers, I'd hazard a guess that roughly four out of five individuals had some kind of Netflix troubles at that time.
But those individuals were not happy.
Commenters on women's blog Jezebel — what else is a gal supposed to do during a Netflix outage but read a women's blog — had their fair share of complaints, suggestions, and humorous remarks regarding the Netflix woes as well:
A few hours after the complaints started up, things quieted down. Either most people had given up on their movie marathons and gone to sleep, or everything was well in the world again. According to Netflix, it was the latter:
Ah well, let's hope that there are no interruptions in Netflix Instant View service for at least the rest of the day so that we can all go polish our pitchforks, light a few new torches, and prepare to rant about Netflix's decision to separate its DVD and streaming plans — and increase prices as a result — again. After all, a 77,000-comment Facebook thread on the price hike can't possibly be the end of things.
