Artist Constantino Brumidi honored by Congress

A master of creating the illusion of three-dimensional forms and figures on flat walls, Constantino Brumidi was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal posthumously for his paintings within the Capitol building. He worked up until the day before he died on Feb. 19, 1880.
