The attorneys for the family of 7-year-old Guatemalan girl Jakelin Caal Maquin, who died in the custody of Customs and Border Protection, call for an independent investigation. According to the Department of Homeland Security, the initial indication was that the child died on Dec. 8 of septic shock.
