During a press briefing, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced the creation of a multi-departmental "illegal fireworks task force" to crack down on sellers and suppliers of illegal fireworks. The task force will comprise of 40 officers from the FDNY, NYPD and the sheriff's office.
