House hearing on emergency notifications addresses East Coast tsunami false alarm from same morning

A House committee met on Capitol Hill today to discuss the reliability of digital emergency alerts. Coincidentally, before the hearing began, some residents along the East Coast received a false tsunami warning after a private company sent out an alert following a monthly test by the National Weather Service.
