Bernard Cherkasov fled Azerbaijan when he was 13 years old to escape religious persecution. Almost 30 years later, he has a law degree, helped lead the fight for marriage equality in Illinois and is currently the executive director of Cradles to Crayons in Chicago.June 14, 2018
