Patients in Limbo: ‘Permanent Patients’ living in hospitals

Barbara Latasiewicz suffered a stroke in September 2009. Despite recovering enough to leave the hospital, she ended up living at Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital in Illinois for more than two years.  Latasiewicz is one of thousands of “permanent patients” hidden in plain sight in hospital rooms across the country.
