Grammy-winning star Aimee Mann’s life changed in 2020, when music began to sound distorted and unpleasant. Mann was diagnosed with vestibular migraines, and found that no treatment helped. She channeled her passion into new forms: sketches of daily life and painting. “The pictures are like the music and the captions are like the lyrics,” she tells NBC News’ Maggie Vespa.
