The Chesapeake Bay and the Conowingo Dam

The Chesapeake Bay is the largest estuary in the United States.  The bay, noted for its beauty, lies off the Atlantic Ocean, surrounded by Maryland and Virginia.   The Conowingo Dam, is a large hydroelectric dam in the lower Susquehanna River.   More than 150 rivers and streams drain into the Chesapeake, including the Susquehanna.   Sediment  from the dam, flows into the Bay,  burying underwater grasses that support sea life and adds to the Chesapeake's pollution problems. NBC's Annie Emberland reports.
