U.S. military convoy heads towards Deir ez-Zor

A U.S. military convoy was filmed driving towards the oil rich region of Deir ez-Zor in Syria Saturday. That’s after U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper said he’d send armored vehicles and troops to protect the oil fields from ISIS. It’s not clear that the vehicles filmed were those referred to by Esper. It’s the latest sign that President Trump’s ambition to remove all U.S. troops from Syria is proving more complicated on the ground.
