Michael Phelps is a father.

Phelps’ fiancée, Nicole Johnson, gave birth to a boy, Boomer Phelps, on Thursday night, according to Phelps’ social media.

There has never been an Olympian with the first or last name “Boomer,” according to sports-reference.com.

Phelps, who has been training in Colorado Springs, Colo., but is based in Arizona, is next expected to compete in a meet in Austin, Texas, in four weeks, followed by the Olympic Trials in Omaha from June 26-July 3.
