Chrissy Teigen and John Legend announce they're expecting their first child

Great news for the couple, who have spoken publicly about struggles with infertility.

After opening up just last month about her struggles with infertility, Chrissy Teigen announced via Instagram Monday that she and husband John Legend are expecting their first child.

As she wrote in the caption to the image both linked to, "John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant :) As many of you know, we've been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn't been easy, but we kept trying because we can't wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family. We're so excited that it's finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching!"

A gentle warning: Excitement about belly-touching in an Instagram caption does not necessarily translate into "go ahead and touch Chrissy Teigen's belly when you see her." In one state it's illegal to do that!

In September Teigen spoke about how the pair, who have been married since 2013, did not find it easy to get pregnant. "I will say honestly John and I were having trouble," she said while co-hosting "FABLife" in September. "We would [have had] kids five, six years ago if it happened. But my gosh, it's been a process. We've seen fertility doctors."

She recently told E! News, "I wanted to talk about it for so long. It didn’t feel right to ever tweet, 'Ugh, doing my IVF shots again.' It just sounded silly. It definitely was not planned in that episode at all."

While the whole TODAY team wishes the happy couple a heartfelt congrats, Teigen only cared how one member of the team felt: Wrangler.

Congratulations to the happy couple!
