First impressions are everything to me. After testing hundreds of products over my years as a commerce reporter, I can tell if a running shoe is supportive enough within the first mile; I can decide if a fancy olive oil is worth splurging on after the first taste; and I can determine if a toy is actually going to occupy my pets just by looking at it.
