One of our favorite board games for your next get-together, Catan is a classic adventure game for groups of up to four people. Players gather resources and establish settlements on the fictional island of Catan, developing roads, trading with allies and building cities until they take over the entire island. Due to the modular hexagonal board, no two games are the same, and it’s suitable for ages 10 and up.
What Do You Meme? is one of my go-to games to break out at parties because it’s hilarious, simple to learn and easy to play with a drink in your hand. Like Cards Against Humanity, it involves a rotating judge who picks their favorite card combination, but this game pairs photos of iconic internet memes with funny captions. Its NSFW gameplay is ideal for adults, and this updated version includes all the original memes plus refreshed photos, an easel, caption cards and GIFs.
Pictionary has been around for 40 years, but this version includes updated markers and a catch-all category with 400 bonus clues, so it won’t feel outdated for the Gen Z and younger family members. Take turns rolling the dice and moving your team’s piece down the winding board. The space you land on dictates the color and category on your card. Draw your prompt as quickly and as accurately as possible, so your teammates can guess the word before the sand timer runs out.
