Since the 1980s, March has been nationally recognized and celebrated as Women’s History Month, and it can serve as a great opportunity to shine light on women-focused causes, organizations and charities to support this month and beyond. We recently covered a variety of women-owned brands that we think Select readers would want to learn more about. Below, we’re also highlighting brands spanning product categories like apparel, beauty, food, wellness and more that have pledged to give back on International Women’s Day (March 8) and throughout Women’s History Month, whether that’s through donations, activism or campaigns.
Major companies and retailers are also increasing efforts to support women-owned businesses and women-focused causes this month. For example, Macy’s is supporting advocacy nonprofit Girls Inc. by launching a month-long roundup and donation campaign online as well as in-stores. Brands Tower 28, L'Appartement 4F, Táche, OffLimits and HBFIT are all offering a 17% discount on products purchased through their sites on March 8, and that money will then be donated back to the Lower East Side Girls Club, which provides free art, science, leadership, entrepreneurship and more programming for young girls in New York City. The brands decided on 17% because in 2022 women, on average, earned 17% less than men.
