Second Person Arrested in Connection with Murder of Esau Abraham Brenes

Arnold Jaramillo Lopez, 16, was arrested Wednesday on charges of first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Law enforcement in North Carolina have arrested a second person in connection with the killing of Esau Abraham Brenes.

Arnold Jaramillo Lopez, 16, was arrested Wednesday on charges of first-degree murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police say Lopez is a known associate of Francisco Rivas Galves-Huezo, who was also charged in Brenes's murder. Galves-Huezo, 21, was reported missing on October 24th, the same day Brenes's body was discovered along a road on the outskirts of Siler City. Galves-Huezo was later found dead along U.S. Highway 421 in Randolph County. He had been shot multiple times and the body was in an advanced stage of decomposition, according to officials.

Brenes, 25, was last seen in Siler City, North Carolina on October 4th, after family members say he drove a high school acquaintance and two strangers home in his green Mini Cooper.
