Before exporting (aka Flipping) any non-broadcast piece for NBCNews.com, please make sure its subject(s) are appropriately chyroned if needed. If you're flipping for Nightly News, please consult NN Web staff to find their Web specific chyron templates. If you have no other show specific templates to use, the spec for our most basic Avid chyrons, using Avid's Title Tool, is as follows:

  1. Set the font to: Arial, 34 pt., Bold, Fill= White, Shad= Black, Shadow Depth Selection= 2
  2. Type your two-line chyron
(hit Enter to move to a 2nd line)
  3. Highlight the 2nd line of text and change its font size to 24 pt.(hit Enter to trigger the change)
  4. Change the Lead to -5
  5. Use the arrow tool to move your text and justify to the bottom left Action Safe (the outer guide) line
In a pinch you may right-justify the text to the right-hand side of Action Safe
