CHARLOTTE, N.C., Nov. 9, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Swisher Hygiene Inc. ("Swisher Hygiene") (TSX:SWI), a leading full-service hygiene solutions provider, today announced that it has appointed several new Vice Presidents to its team to enhance its base of knowledge and experience as it expands its footprint both domestically and internationally.
Swisher Hygiene is pleased to announce the appointment of Douglas T. Story as Vice President – Innovation. Mr. Story will lead the development of innovative chemical products and delivery systems for the institutional, industrial and commercial markets. In addition, Jim Foley has joined as Vice President – Distribution, where he will be responsible for adding new distributor partners and supporting existing programs. Finally, Daniel Volker was appointed Vice President – Chemical Sales and will be responsible for working with Swisher Hygiene's chemical suppliers and integrating new acquisitions into Swisher Hygiene.

Mr. Story has over 20 years of experience ranging from R&D to Global Portfolio management and holds several patents on cutting-edge delivery systems. He joins Swisher Hygiene from Ideal Chemical and Supply, Inc. ("Ideal"), where he served as Director of the company's Specialty Chemicals Division and was responsible for the development of new markets and innovative products. Prior to Ideal, Mr. Story spent nine years at JohnsonDiversey, Inc. ("JohnsonDiversey"), a global corporation, where he held a range of positions – most recently as Senior Research Fellow – and was responsible for leading teams in the launch of special projects and businesses for JohnsonDiversey. He has also held positions at Johnson Wax Professional, U.N.X. Incorporated, and Westvaco (now MeadWestvaco). Mr. Story has published his work in various trade journals and is a seasoned lecturer on applying technology to business operations, currently working with the Drycleaning and Laundry Institute and Association of Linen Management (formally NALIM), among others. He received a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from Western Carolina University and a Masters of Business Administration from Loyola University of Chicago, Illinois.
Mr. Foley brings to Swisher Hygiene 26 years of experience in the chemical and distribution businesses, serving as Director of Sales and Training with Intercon Chemical for the last 10 years. Prior to Intercon Chemical, Mr. Foley worked with Ecolab, Diversey Wyandotte and ServiceMaster, as well as in distribution services with Gordon Food Service, where he was Regional Manager for the chemical division. Mr. Foley received his Associate's degree in Business Management from College of DuPage.
Mr. Volker joins Swisher Hygiene after spending 22 years at JohnsonDiversey, serving most recently as Area Vice President of Corporate Accounts in their healthcare division as well as holding a range of positions in Operations, Distributor Sales, Contract Management and Marketing. Mr. Volker received a Bachelor of Science in Food Systems Economics and Management from Michigan State University.
