LONG BEACH, N.Y., May 4, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Planet Payment, Inc. (LSE:PPT) (AIM:PPT) and (LSE:PPTR) (OTCQX:PLPM), a leading international payment and data processor, today announced the appointment of E. Drew Soinski as Managing Director, Americas. In this new position, Drew will be responsible for driving the revenue growth in the existing North American markets as well as managing the Company's business development efforts in the significant Latin American region.

Drew most recently was VP Global Payments at Voltage Security where he was responsible for the Payments vertical market, selling end-to-end payment encryption solutions to larger retailers and the payment processing community. Prior to this, Drew headed Business Development, Security Solutions and terminal application engineering at Hypercom and has held prior high level executive positions with companies like First Horizon Merchant Services (now Elavon), NaBanco (now Chase Paymentech) and NPC. Additionally, Drew has held and currently holds numerous committee engagements within the Electronic Transaction Association (ETA).
Planet Payment also announced the promotion of Scott Goldthwaite to SVP Product Management and Marketing, where he is now responsible for directing the product management, marketing and sales support efforts for the Company. Scott has extensive experience in developing innovative solutions in the payments industry and holds several patents in the field of mobile payments. Prior to joining Planet Payment, Scott held other payment industry executive positions, including Vice President, Mobile Business Development at Hypercom and Vice President and was a founding member of WAY Systems. Additionally, Scott continues to serve on ETA committees.
