The Glamazon: Seabourn Quest
Launched: June 2011
Size: 450 passengers; 32,000 tons; 650 feet long
Sails: From the Mediterranean to Florida in November; the Caribbean in December. Coming in 2012: an around-the-world cruise.
Like her sisters, Seabourn Odyssey and Sojourn, the all-suite Quest is nearly three times the size of the line’s earlier ships. Translation: You’ll find the highest space-to-guest ratio of any luxury cruise ship. In need of some serious pampering? You’re in good hands, with mineral water spritzes and chilled towels poolside, and Charlie Palmer himself masterminding the food. At 11,400 square feet, the spa is cruising’s largest, with indoor and outdoor space on two decks; private spa cabanas; a salt-inhalation steam room; and a Kneipp pool.
Other Highlights: Ninety percent of the cabins have verandas, but the Wintergarden suites hold the first private glassed-in solariums on a cruise ship, complete with soaking tubs and daybeds. In warmer climes, the captain deploys an in-ocean “marina” with water skis and kayaks for your use.
