A Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to probation for snatching the hairpiece off the head of another man at a restaurant.

The defendant, Paul Goudy, 25, of Lemoyne, has pleaded guilty to theft by unlawful taking. He was sentenced to 23 months’ probation, fined $500 and ordered to write a letter of apology.

The 60-year-old victim was sitting in a Harrisburg restaurant in January when, according to court documents, Goudy ripped the hairpiece off his head. He also took a gold chain that hung from the victim’s neck.

Goudy said another man offered him $100 to do it as a dare.
