The two people who died in a plane crash in Milwaukee Wednesday have been identified as a father and his teenage daughter who were flying from Boston to the Midwest for a college tour.
Joseph F. Trustey, 53, and Anna Trustey, 18, of Massachusetts, died when the Socata TBM-700 turboprop plane crashed while landing at Timmerman Airport and burst into flames shortly after 6 p.m local time (7 p.m. ET) Wednesday, officials said Thursday.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash.
Joseph F. Trustey was chief operating officer at growth equity firm Summit Partners, which has an office in Boston. The company said in a statement Thursday that he joined the company in 1992.
"Joe was uniquely distinguished in so many ways: as a partner, a leader and a friend,” Summit Partners chief investment officer Marty Marty Mannion said in the statement.
"He touched everybody he met with his intellect, his sterling character and his engaging sense of humor. We cannot express how much we will miss his presence in our lives," Mannion said.
Timmerman Airport is a smaller, general and private aviation airfield in the northwest part of the city. General Mitchell International Airport is Milwaukee's main airport.
