Hamar women dance before a bull jumping ceremony in Ethiopia's southern Omo Valley.

The construction of the Gibe III dam, the third largest hydroelectric plant in Africa, along the Omo river is impacting heavily on the lives of tribes living in the neighboring valley who depend on the river for their survival. As globalization and development impact the region, human rights groups fear for the future of these tribes as they maybe forced to scatter and give up their traditional ways through loss of land or the ability to keep cattle.
