Today’s models aren’t exactly at the first-name-only status held by the supermodels of the mid-‘90s, but they are no less busy and in demand.
From ad campaigns for the world’s biggest brands to the glitziest runways in New York, London, Milan and Paris, the fashion industry’s most famous faces are a constant presence, but relatively anonymous to most people. In honor of New York Fashion Week Spring 2014 (Sept. 5-12), take a look at the busiest beauties in fashion:

Rubik has been one of fashion’s most ubiquitous faces during the past decade, appearing in ad campaigns for Chloe, Valentino, Christian Dior, Jimmy Choo and Balmain and making guest appearances on television’s “Top Model” in her native Poland. In 2012, Rubik launched 25 Magazine, a publication focused on art, fashion and erotica, which recently put out its second issue.

Arguably the most ubiquitous face in fashion at the moment, Delavigne is sought after for her signature bushy eyebrows and playful personality. She also happens to be the granddaughter of former English Heritage chairman Sir Jocelyn Stevens, and is friends with pop stars like Rihanna and Rita Ora. She has been the face of Burberry for a few seasons and walks in almost every major show each Fashion Week, including Chanel, Jason Wu and Stella McCartney. In 2012 she won the “Model of the Year” award at the British Fashion Awards.

Dunn was discovered in a British department store back in 2006 and has since had significant career highlights including gracing the cover of American Vogue and being named “Model of the Year” at the 2008 British Fashion Awards. Also in 2008, she was the first black model to walk in a Prada show in over a decade and was among a handful of British models to participate in the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympics.

Discovered in Australia by the same model scout who plucked Miranda Kerr from obscurity, Kershaw has fast become a favorite face of less mainstream magazines like V and photographers like Terry Richardson, for whom she has done some controversial and provocative posing. Despite her multiple piercings and tattoos, Kershaw walks major runways, like Chanel and Versace, and has been the face of Gucci’s Flora fragrance since 2008. She has recently segued into acting, filming the upcoming movie “Mad Max: Fury Road” and is also a musician, playing drums and percussion in her band, Our Mountain.

Beloved for her tomboy style and effortless demeanor in front of the camera, Erichsen has walked in countless designer shows such as Prada, Miu Miu, Alexander Wang and Chanel. She has been the face of Chanel, Hugo Boss, Balenciaga, Chloe and Max Mara and inspired major designers to create accessories bearing her name – Jill Stuart and Chloe have a Freja bag and Wang created the Freja lace-up stiletto boot.

Poised to join the ranks of ‘90s supermodels like Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington, Smalls is currently ranked as the no. 1 model by Models.com and as no. 8 on Forbes’ list of the highest-paid models of 2013. She has walked in fashion shows for Gucci, Chanel and Stella McCartney and starred in ad campaigns for David Yurman, H&M, Barneys New York and Gap. Most notably, Smalls is the first latina beauty ambassador for Estee Lauder and currently co-hosts “House of Style” on MTV.

Along with Smalls, Wen made Forbes’ list of the highest paid models of 2013 (Wen came in at no. 5). She is also the first Asian beauty ambassador for Estee Lauder. Wen’s rise in the fashion industry has been parallel with the emerging Asian luxury market and she has secured ad campaigns with Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein and as the first Asian model to be a Victoria’s Secret Angel. Wen moved to New York from China in 2009 teaching herself English by watching “Gossip Girl” and comparing books from the “Harry Potter” book series in Chinese and English.

The Kansas native is recognizable for her offbeat beauty, which is characterized by full, bee-stung lips and a significant gap between her two front teeth. Wixson jets from city to city to shoot campaigns for major designers and walk in runways shows including, Prada, Miu Miu and Chanel to name a few. But between the glamour of modeling, Wixon lives at home with her parents in Wichita where she only recently finished high school.

Though she has modeled since age 13, Chanel Iman didn’t become recognizable until her debut as a Victoria’s Secret Angel in 2010. She has also walked just about every designer runway show, including Dior Haute Couture and Balenciaga and appeared in ad campaigns for Gap, Ralph Lauren and DKNY. Her love life has recently been the subject of fashion and gossip blogs, which have linked her to rap star and fashion darling, A$AP Rocky.

Strokous is consistently featured in magazine editorials for Vogue China, Vogue Japan, I-D Magazine, W and V magazines. She has also been the face of ad campaigns for Dior, Gucci ad Louis Vuitton. The daughter of a prominent Russian businessman, Strokous has also broken out into acting, holding a small part in the 2011 film “Contagion”.
