Melania Trump Gets Skewered on Social Media After Republican Convention Speech

Twitter erupted with jokes and memes amid allegations Melania Trump's speech was plagiarized from a Michelle Obama address.

Twitter erupted late Monday night amid revelations Melania Trump's speech to the RNC bore striking similarities to Michelle Obama's breakout speech to the Democratic Convention in 2008.

Trump had told NBC before her convention appearance that she'd written the speech with "as little help as possible." Two paragraphs from the speech appear to be almost identical to Obama's 2008 address.

Journalist Jarrett Hill was one of the first to note the similarities — sending social-media into overdrive when he pulled out the suspect passages.
