Six mobility impaired racers, 30 in wheelchairs and 24 using hand-cycles will participate in the Boston Marathon on Monday, according to the Boston Athletic Association website.
The three groups were the first to hit the start line Monday in the town of Hopkinton.
Dick Hoyt, 73, and his son Rick Hoyt, 52, were going to make their 31st Boston Marathon their last in 2013, but the bombs went off a mile before they crossed the finish line so they vowed to come back one last time.
