A cartoon in the Moscow Times newspaper highlighted Russian President Vladimir Putin's possible ambitions in the Crimea region of neighboring Ukraine on Friday.

Referencing the glitch during Sochi 2014's Opening Ceremony when only four of the five Olympic rings materialized, the cartoon also was a reminder of how quickly the world's attention had shifted from the Winter Games.

Tensions in the semi-autonomous Ukrainian region of Crimea were high on Friday, after armed men reportedly blockaded an airport near Russia's naval base in the country and another in Simferopol.
