Users of Gmail noticing a certain sluggishness to their emails will be glad to know they aren't imagining things. Google's webmail service is experiencing delays and some outages, but the company says it's working on it.

Reports of outages hit Google early Monday morning, and Gmail's status dashboard page was updated to reflect that a small percentage of users was having trouble. A number of hourly updates ensued, providing little information but acknowledging the problem's scope had grown from "an estimated 0.024 percent" to "less than 50 percent" of users.

The latest update, however, at 3 p.m. ET, suggested that a resolution was on its way within an hour. Google Documents and Google Presentations were also affected, and received much the same in the way of status updates.

NBC News contacted Google for more information, but the company responded via email that "we don't have any further details to share at this time" — so watch the status page for the latest.

Update: Information posted at 10 P.M. ET indicates that the problem has been completely resolved.
