Looks like you’re never too young to ward off the evil eye.

David Banda, the one-year-old boy Madonna is adopting from Malawi, Africa has been wearing one of those red string Kabbalah bracelets.

Madonna’s rep, Liz Rosenberg, confirms to The Scoop that the tyke, has, indeed, donned the trademark trinket of the offshoot of Judaism, which according to Kabbalah literature, fends off “the unfriendly stare and unkind glances we sometimes get from people around us.”

Regarding David’s wearing the red string, one Kabbalah insider explained: “There’s been so much evil eye sent in the direction of David and his mother that he needs this protection.”

Walk the dinosaurBarbara Bush (the first daughter, not the first mother) is a bit of a dinosaur — or at least will be one.

The darker-haired half of the Bush twins was overheard saying that she’s dressing up as a dinosaur for Halloween. Bush made the revelation at an advanced screening of Penelope Cruz’s film “Volver,” hosted by fashion designer Alvin Valley, Rado watches and The Week at Soho House in New York City last Thursday.

Valley also gave Bush some news: that E! is apparently putting together a “True Hollywood Story” about the first daughters, which she apparently didn’t know.

After the show, “Arrested Development” star Will Arnett was spotted chatting with Bush (“Innocently,” says our source, “after all, he’s a married man!”). Bush revealed that her favorite TV shows are “24” and “CSI.” No word on what she thought of “Volver,” a Pedro Almodovar flick about a sexually abused woman.

Notes from all overJim Carrey is getting a reputation for being difficult and difficulter. As we reported, production was halted on his film “Ripley’s Believe It Or Not,” allegedly after the comedian kept asking for script changes, which would have driven up the cost of the flick. Apparently, it’s not an isolated problem — a similar incident happened on a film project called “The Brothers Bloom.” “Jim was attached to the film but he kept asking for rewrites,” says a source. “[The movie is] about a con man and his brother, but Jim wanted it to be all about him. It’s called ‘Brothersssss Bloom,’ not ‘Brother Bloom.’ So now he’s no longer with the film.”  . . . .Kate Moss fans are wondering what the heck has happened to the model’s nose, which lately looks like it’s morphing into Michael Jackson’s nose.  . . . Janet Jackson appeared on a Japanese talk show last week and discussed boyfriend Jermaine Dupri’s shoe obsession. “I like shoes, I’m not collecting them, but yes, I like shoes and bags — handbags,” Jackson said. “[Dupri] has more shoes than I do. Gym shoes. Sneakers. Everywhere. Neatly, but everywhere. Rows and rows and rows and rows. And not just at one home — at a few homes.”
